Earlier this year, word came from Alec Bradley for a companion cigar for its American Classic cigar featuring a sun-grown wrapper.   The June 5, 2012 Cigar Insider has revealed information regarding this cigar.  This cigar is known as the Alec Bradley American Sun Grown Blend and it is being positioned for a late June (pre-IPCPR 2012) release.

According to the article, the cigar is being positioned by Alec Bradley as a bolder and spicier version.

Like the original Alec Bradley American Classic, this is being positioned as a value-priced cigar as the price point will range in SRP from $4.20 to $5.75 (depending on the size).   The Alec Bradley American Sun Grown was a cigar that was originally going to be called the Alec Bradley American Heritage.

Blend Profile

The blend will be similar to the original Alec Bradley American Classic.  The binder and filler are the same with the wrapper being sun-grown Nicaraguan Habano.  While the original American Classic featured a Honduran Connecticut seed binder, the Alec Bradley American Sun Grown will be a Nicaraguan puro.

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano Sun-Grown
Binder: Nicaraguan Jalapa
Filler: Nicaraguan (Esteli and Condega)
