Cigar Aficionado recently reported some information about a new blend being added to the Oliva V family.   This cigar is called the Oliva V Melanio.  The cigar will be launched at the 2012 IPCPR Trade Show in Orlando, Floria

The Oliva V Melanio is expected to be a core line cigar with production limited to 500,000 or less per year.  The Melanio gets its name from family patriarch Melanio Oliva.  Melanio Oliva was a tobacco grower in 19th century Cuba.  He is believed to be the first Oliva family member to grow tobacco.

Blend Profile

The Melanio will be highlighted by its Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over Nicaragua binder and filler.  The blend will emphasize Nicaraguan tobacco from Jalapa.

Vitolas Available

Oliva has announced five vitolas.  Length and ring gauges have not been made publicly available at this time.
