L’Atelier Imports will be adding a new vitola to its core L’Atelier line.  This will be in a classic lancero format measuring 7 1/2 x 38.   Our own Stogie Santa on Episode 84 of the Stogie Geeks show smoked the lancero and confirmed the project with company owner K.C. Johnson.

The L’Atelier Lancero will become the fourth frontmark in the core L’Atelier line.

In terms of a time table, June was mentioned as a targeted date, but it is not mentioned as a firm data.  Stogie Santa did mention that some blend tweaking still may be taking place between now and the final release.

Stogie Santa gave some initial impressions of this cigar on Episode 84 of Stogie Geeks.

At a glance, here is a look at the L’Atelier line:

Blend Profile

The L’Atelier core line uses a special wrapper called Sancti Spiritus.   It was a tobacco leaf grown by the Oliva family with a seed from the Garcia family.  It is a hybrid of Criollo and Pelo de Oro and was designed as a replacement seed for Pelo de Oro.  The wrapper itself has a strong resistance to mold.

Wrapper: Ecuadorian (Sancti Spiritus)
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
