A.J. Fernandez New World Connecticut

The second blend in A.J. Fernandez’s New World line is getting ready to hit the market. The long awaited A.J. Fernandez New World Connecticut will begin hitting retailers this May. This introduces a U.S. Connecticut Shade wrapper cigar over an all new blend into the New World line of A.J. Fernandez’s portfolio. It marks the second project master blender A.J. Fernandez has collaborated on with his father, Ismael who joined the team last year.

It was on the 3 Year Anniversary of Stogie Geeks when word first surfaced on the A.J. Fernandez Connecticut project.  Shortly after that, there was an event only launch at Cigar Inn in New York City where a limited small batch A.J. Fernandez Connecticut was made available.

The New World line pays homage to the discovery of what was called “mythical smoking leaf” named tobacco when the Europeans landed in what was called the New World. The original New World was the first collaboration between Fernandez and his father Ismael Fernandez. That cigarlis a Nicaraguan puro available in four box pressed sizes priced around $6.00.

The A.J. Fernandez New World Connecticut will remain value-priced cigar staying in the $6.00 range.  The cigar features an all-new blend with a U.S. Connecticut Shade wrapper, San Andres Mexican binder, and filler from Brazil and Nicaragua. The New World Connecticut will also be a rounded cigar and not box-pressed. There will be four sizes made available in the line.  The cigar is described as a medium-bodied cigar delivering notes of cream, wood, and almonds.

In a press release announcing the New World Connecticut A.J. Fernandez said: “The New World cigar was a very special project as it was the first cigar that was created with the help of my father Ismael Fernandez since he joined me at A.J. Fernandez Cigars. I am more than thrilled that the public reception has been so positive, that it has once again allowed us, as father and son to create the New World Connecticut.”

At a glance, here is a look at the A.J. Fernandez New World Connecticut:
