Cigar Dave released some more information about the blend of the new release of the A.Turrent Triple Corojo under the Altadis umbrella.

The A.Turrent Triple Corojo is an all-Corojo cigar.  It is not the first all-Corojo cigar being released this year.  The Martin Family of Cigars is releasing the Pedro Martin Corojo that will have Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper, binder, and filler.   However, the A. Turrent Triple Corojo will have a different blend.  It will leverage San Andres Mexican tobacco in the blend.  Here is a summary of the blend as reported by Cigar Dave:

Wrapper: San Andres (Mexican) Corojo
Binder: Nicaraguan Corojo
Filler: Nicaraguan Corojo, Honduran Corojo, San Andres Corojo

Last year, Alejandro Turrent released the A.Turrent Triple Play – a triple Maduro consisting of San Andres Morron wrapper, the binder is a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, and the long fillers are from Nicaragua, Honduras, and San Andres – all Maduro cured.  This cigar rated #14 by Cigar Aficionado and #20 on my Top 30 Cigars for 2010.

No surprises as the Turrent family is well known for San Andres tobacco.   Stay tuned to this web-site for more details or references on this release.  Timetable for the full release is this summer.
