Padron Family Reserve 85th Maduro

One piece of information I found out from IPCPR 2011 was that the Padron Family Series No. 47 was rebranded the Padron Family Series 85th in honor of Jose O Padron’s 85th birthday.  Unfortunately I did not have much more information than the rename.

From the appearance of the 85th that was on IPCPR, it was clear to me that this was a slightly smaller vitola than the previous Family Reserve series.  It consists of 7 to 10 year aged tobaccos to make up the blend.  The SRP will be in the $20.00 range.

Here are the specifications on this cigar:

Blend Profile

No surprise about this being a Nicaraguan puro:

Wrapper: Nicaraguan Maduro
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan

Vitolas Available

From looking at the smaller ring gauge and size, the vitola specifications were not too hard to guess.  This cigar is available in a single vitola – a 5 1/4 x 50 robusto vitola.

I will have more details when I sample this.
