Nomad Cigar Company will be releasing a full-production Nicaraguan-made cigar.   The Nomad S-307 is targeted for a Fall, 2013 release and will be made at the Tabacalera Fernandez factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.  Initial details were posted on the Nomad Cigar Company web-site.

The S-307 will be launched in three box-press sizes. At this time, the only details disclosed on the cigar blend is that it will contain an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper.  In terms of the timing of the release, the company mentions a September/October 2013 date.

Nomad Cigar Company launched in 2012 with its Dominican made “Nomad” cigar line.  Recently, the company announced its first Nicaraguan-made cigar, the limited production Nomad LE Esteli 1386 – a cigar that will make its debut at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show.  When we previewed the LE1386, we noted there was another Nicaraguan made blend being targeted.  The Nomad S-307 becomes the second Nicaraguan made cigar, but will be offered as a core line offering.

In terms of the name, the 307 represents the approximate size of the area (in miles) of the region of the Nicaraguan region where tobacco is grown.  The number “307” was also significant with the Nomad LE Esteli 1386 as that was the number of boxes produced.

In terms of the new cigar and working with Fernandez, Nomad Cigar Company founder Fred Rewey said, “I am honored to have my first full production of a Nicaraguan cigar being blended and manufactured at Tabacalera Fernandez. The new blend is amazing and I am thrilled to expand the Nomad cigar line to include Nicaragua – in a really big way.”

Earlier this year, Nomad entered into an agreement in which Emilio Cigars would handle their distribution.
