The Hidden “Cache” of the Viaje Cache

Last week we reported on the launch of a new line by Viaje Cigars called the Viaje Cache.  The name Cache refers to the rooms where Viaje ages their tobacco and this cigar pays homage to that.  At the time of the announcement, Viaje Cigars President Andre Farkas had mentioned “to elaborate on the idea of the aging rooms, each handmade box has a hidden ‘cache’ built into the bottom where a surprise awaits”.

Upon opening the 25 count of the Viaje Cache, one would see several 5 x 52 parejo-shaped cigars.  Looking into the hidden cache at the bottom, there are five box-pressed versions of the Viaje Cache were revealed.  Farkas told Cigar Coop that the box-press puts a whole different spin on this blend.

The Viaje Cache features a San Andres Maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler.  In terms of whether this makes a return for future batch, Farkas will see how the the market receives the cigar.
