A. Turrent Cigars has announced that Casa Turrent, a cigar that has previously only been made available in select markets will be heading for a more widespread release in the U.S. and Europe. In addition, the company has announced it will be handling their own distribution. Plans are for the Casa Turrent to make its way to retailers in June.

The Turrent family is considered by many to be the first family of Mexican tobacco. The family is behind the Te-Amo brand and are one of the larger growers of tobacco in the San Andres region. Te-Amo is currently distributed by Altadis. Back in 2010 and 2011, two “A. Turrent’ branded cigars were also added to the distribution – the A. Turrent Triple Play and A. Turrent Puro Corojo. These two cigars have been said to be discontinued, although Altadis continues to distribute the Te-Amo line. The launch of Casa Turrent marks a new chapter in that the Turrents will be handling their own distribution.

After discontinuing all previous A. Turrent branded cigar lines last year, A. Turrent Cigars, makers of the famous Te-Amo brand, will be releasing the Casa Turrent brand in June—and they’re distributing it themselves.

Casa Turrent is not a new release.  The cigar made its debut in 2013 at the Festival del Puro Mexicano. Following the festival, it became a house cigar at the A. Turrent’s Mexico City lounge. This was followed up by a limited release in Canada and select European markets.

While the A. Turrent Cigars were made in Honduras at the Flor de Copan factory. With Casa Turrent, the cigar is made at A. Turrent’s Nueva Matacapa S.A. factory in Mexico.
